An exciting course of study at TU Bergakademie Freiberg and close contact with a company on top of that - at TU Bergakademie Freiberg this combination will become easier from the coming winter semester. The university is introducing the cooperative study programme from October 2024. This type of cooperation is a win-win-win situation for everyone involved: students complete a practical degree programme and already earn money, the university opens up another attractive study option, and companies can attract young people and offer employment opportunities in times of a shortage of skilled workers.

Den ersten Kooperationsvertrag für das neue Studienmodell unterzeichneten der Rektor der TU Bergakademie Freiberg Professor Klaus-Dieter Barbknecht und die Vertreter der Firmen Köppern und Haver Engineering am 25. April 2024, Artur Hubert (Geschäftsführer Köppern Aufbereitungstechnik GmbH und Co. KG) sowie Dr. Metodi Zlatev (Leiter Vertrieb Haver Niagara GmbH).

On the initiative of Professor Holger Lieberwirth from the Institute of Processing Machines and Recycling Systems Technology at TUBAF, an agreement has already been concluded with the companies Köppern Aufbereitungstechnik and Haver Engineering. Holger Lieberwirth emphasised that the cooperative study programme in Freiberg will be much more flexible than other types of university-company cooperation: "The students and the companies determine the respective agreements together. This means that working hours and salaries can be negotiated individually." The first cooperation agreement for the new study model was signed by the Rector of TU Bergakademie Freiberg Professor Klaus-Dieter Barbknecht and the representatives of the companies Köppern and Haver Engineering on 25 April 2024, Artur Hubert (Managing Director Köppern Aufbereitungstechnik GmbH und Co. KG) and Dr Metodi Zlatev (Head of Sales Haver Niagara GmbH). The Rector emphasised: "With the cooperative study programme, we are creating a close link between higher education and professional practice for the specialists of tomorrow. This form of study is possible for almost all of our 68 degree programmes. We are happy to put interested first-year students in touch with companies."
