Welcome to the Microbiology and Biohydrometallurgy research group
We are primarily concerned with extremophilic microorganisms, bioleaching of primary and secondary raw materials as well as microbial treatment of mining-influenced water. The spectrum ranges from classic microbiological and molecular biological methods to bioreactor technology and chemical analysis. Both cultivation, physiological tests, microbial community analysis as well as bioleaching and metal recovery methods in batch and continuous reactors are in the foreground.
